At the core of the system is the KERN CFS 6K0.1 reference scale, which can also function as a stand-alone scale. It provides fine accuracy and is simple to operate using the numeric keypad. Users can program reference quantities, enter known reference weights, or set targets for counts and weights. The clear display arrangement includes three separate screens showing total weight, reference weight, and total number of pieces. In addition, the scale offers a memory (PLU) that can store item information such as text, reference weights, and tare weights for containers.
The system also features a fill-to-target function, which provides an audible and visual alert once the target count or weight has been reached. Accuracy improves throughout the counting process thanks to the automatic optimisation of the reference weight, which continuously refines the average piece weight. A protective cover for the display device is included in the delivery to keep it safe in daily use.
The heavy-duty part of the system is the KERN KIP-V20M quantity scale, which handles high-volume counting with a weighing capacity of up to 600 kg. The weighing bridge is made of non-slip corrugated steel plate and finished with a lacquered coating for durability. It is equipped with four steel load cells that are silicone-coated and IP67 protected, making the platform resistant to dust and water splashes.
The CCS 600K-1 provides a reference scale readability of 100 mg, reproducibility of 0.0002 kg, and linearity of 200 mg. The quantity scale has a linearity of 0.4 kg and allows even very small parts to be counted in large batches, with a minimum piece weight of just 1 g under normal conditions.
The platform measures 1200 × 1500 mm with a height of 108 mm, suitable for larger containers or pallets. The LCD display has 20 mm digit height and is connected to the platform via a 5 m cable. The display housing is plastic with IP23 protection, while the platform and load cells are protected to IP65. The total system weight is approximately 110 kg, and it operates reliably in temperatures from 0 °C to 40 °C.
